Nowadays, everyone is under constant pressure; everything we do and everywhere we go, we need to handle stressful situations, and it is very hard to find our balance and manage to calm ourselves and get rid of all the accumulated anxiety.
Cultures in developing countries are also starting to know what stress is and their populations are starting to be affected by what some call "the condition of the century", which comes with the modernizing process, while becoming acquainted with the western ways.
The best antidote for stress comes from an ancient culture and has been used by people for thousands of years. Yoga, an extensively multi-dimensional discipline, deals with stress on more than one level. There are therefore many yoga techniques you could use to relieve stress and become relaxed.
Yoga asanas, or physical poses, can help you tone your muscles and nerves and to make your body more responsive to your dictates instead of having it the other way around, as you probably usually do.
Every technique focuses on actually feeling the muscles and nerves as they tense and unwind, so that you can flex and relax them at your own will. The feeling of control is usually immediate, so you will be able to see the results in the first day of practicing this effective yoga technique.
